Cliffside Resort Condo

While I appreciate the Cliffside Resort is only just about to open so there won%26#39;t be any reviews of the place yet, I would like to ask anyone in the area, does it look like the sort of place a family from the UK could spend a relaxing week before spending a week in NYC ?

Any comments on the Cliffside Resort from those in the know would be very much appreciated.

Hi,

I was talking to the new manager yesterday and have made arrangements to see it on Sunday, so I%26#39;ll let you know after that how ready they are. I didn%26#39;t see any grass/ landscaping there yet, but you know how things get done in America, they will just roll it in at the last minute and voila!

On the face of it, it looks like very good value for a waterfront location with private beach, pool and stunning sunsets. And while there are always going to be drawbacks and teething problems from a new operation, everything will be brand new and fresh in the condos, and people will be trying really hard to make sure you have a great holiday.

I haven%26#39;t dropped in to TA for months, so quite a coincidence that I saw this, and I%26#39;m not actually sure of the protocol here, but I think I%26#39;m supposed to disclose that I may have a professional interest in this - I offer other vacation rentals in the area, and (as of today), have agreed to help find people also interested in Cliffside.

I%26#39;ll be back!

Thanks Angela, I look forward to reading your comments.

Sorry, I mean Joanna - should have put my glasses on !!!

As promised, I went there today to check it out and meet the management team.

Yesterday, there were about 100 landscapers there rolling out turf and sure enough, about 30% had been done by this afternoon. I%26#39;m sure the rest will be finished in time for opening in mid-June. It was a beautiful sunny day and I took photos of the pool, which looks gorgeous. There is a pool house, although I%26#39;m not quite sure what amenities that will provide for guests, other than pool towels, or whether pool towels can be taken to the beach.

I didn%26#39;t actually get to the beach as I was distracted, but it%26#39;s high bluff, which means a hike up and down some steep steps.

The photos of the accommodation that they are using were taken with a super wide angle lens. In reality, each unit is 650 sq ft in total for 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and living room. I saw two units and they were very similar interiors. Second floor balcony has the best views.

I was told today that each unit will accommodate 8 people. I%26#39;m not quite sure how they arrive at that number since even with a pull-out couch in the living room, that%26#39;s only beds for 6, with one queen bedroom and the other bedroom with two single beds. Four people would be very comfortable.

There are 68 units in total, so if all are occupied, that could be 400-500 people using the pool and 68 to 120 cars going in and out. There is no restaurant on site and no amenities within walking distance. You need a car. The office currently doubles as the pool house, so there is no 24/7 on-site management, only on call management. Keys will be picked up from lock box if you arrive after around 4pm.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

I am planning to take my 6 year old son and his friend to this resort during labor day. My plan is to book the Water%26#39;s view Unit so that we have a nice view and the kids have ample space to run. The price is alot higher than most resorts in the area. can anyone who lives in the area or has seen the resort give their recommendation. I was looking for a place that would be near a beach and would have space for the kid to run around.

any comments would be much appreciated

thanks
