Family Trip Report - Day 3

Day 3 began with a trip to Zabars and H %26amp; H Bagels. I loved wandering through Zabars. I know it sounds silly, but when you are used to shopping at Wal-mart or Target, Zabars was a treat.

We spent the morning in Central Park, which ended up being the boys favorite place in the city. We found the baseball fields and spent a few hours there. We had packed gloves, ball and bat, so they had a great time playing. They tired, so we took a break and found an ice cream cart near the carousel. Watched a juggler for a while. He spotted my little one%26#39;s LSU shirt and come to find out he was from a small town near us. Such a small world!

We truly loved just wandering through the park. We located the Balto statue, along with every other tourist in Central Park, but managed to snap a few pictures. Also went to Bethesda Fountain. The park is such a great place to people watch.

From there, we decided to do TOTR. No wait at all and had nice time visiting with those around us. I have one that is scared to ride in elevators, but he said it wasn%26#39;t bad at all. After Central Park, this was their next favorite part of the trip. Such great views of this wonderful city. I realized just how vast Central Park really is. We spent quite a bit of time up there just looking. I figured we%26#39;d look around and then leave, but my boys surprised me. They were not bored at all.

From there, we went to Nintendo World and they played games for a bit and then we went to Toys R Us to ride the ferris wheel and just wander through. Personally, I enjoyed the lego display. I never thought I would be taking pictures at a toy store, but I was definitely a tourist this evening!

Checked out Times Square once again and once again found it to be too frantic for me. I found it amusing to see how many people could fit in the median in the street to take their pictures in front of all the signs!

Found our way to the subway and headed back to the calmness of the UWS. For dinner, it was off to Uno Chicago Pizzeria. I know, it is not New York pizza, but the kids say it our first day there and wanted to go. It ended up being such a fun evening. We had a wonderful waitress who entertained the boys the whole time. The diners beside us were having a heated debate about the presidential election, so we became part of that. Overall, a nice evening.

Headed back to the hotel and called it a night fairly early. Hopefully, starting the day early tomorrow!

%26lt;I know it sounds silly, but when you are used to shopping at Wal-mart or Target, Zabars was a treat.%26gt;--It%26#39;s even a treat for us who live nearby--as long as it%26#39;s not too crowded.
