Hi Guys very new to this, but am totally addicted to this forum and your advice is great in helping us plan our visit for my 60th in Dec.
We are attending the worship service on 21st Dec at 9 am taking a taxi from our hotel 8 am we are staying at the NY Palace. We wish to pay our respects after the service at the WTC. We plan to take a taxi, but was wondering if it would be possible to take the subway or is that too long winded.
I am sure we will have loads of Q%26#39;s I am putting together our itinary and will post for your professional advice later (its changeing as I read your posts). However our Sunday is fixed hence needing your advice for this day at the moment.
Thanks
Best way from Abyssinian Baptist Church to WTC
The church is at 132 W. 138th Street, it is just west of Lenox Avenue.
You can walk over to 135th Street and Lenox Avenue and get the 2 / 3 Express train down to Chambers Street or Park Place. Both stations are very close to the WTC site.
Some weekends there is track work on the 2 / 3 trains. If there is a disruption to service, you can walk over to St. Nicholas Avenue and 135th Street for the C train to Chambers Street. Note that there is an entrance to the C train at 137th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue however it is the 135th Street station.
The train will take about half an hour and there should be frequent service.

Tks MoreFFmile for your quick reply. We will look this up on our maps. Is there a site where we can check train times etc we expect to leave church 11ish
There%26#39;s no point in checking train times- the subway runs constantly. It will also be a much quicker trip than if you went by cab.
Thanks for your help
