Starting this Saturday, August 9th and continuing each Saturday for the next three Saturdays, (8/9, 8/16, 8/23), the City of New York Department of Transportation, is closing Park Avenue and the streets that connect it to the Brooklyn Bridge and Central Park to vehicular traffic in order to present ';Summer Streets';.
This event opens the streets to the public to walk, bike and play. Part bike tour, part block party, there will be many events along the route including cultural, recreational and exercise activities. For example, Rudin Management will be allowing the City to utilize the plaza of 345 Park Avenue to conduct yoga and dance lessons.
This is being done as part of NYC%26#39;s greening initiative to encourage New Yorkers to use more sustainable forms of transportation.
