I love Chocolate, can anyone advise me where I can purchase good handmade chocolates.

I don%26#39;t know if they are hand made, however Teuschers is my favorite chocolate.

Chocolate !!!!!
New York%26#39;s best is Jacques Torres.
And, Paris%26#39; best, Maison de Chocolat (sp?), is on W. 49th St. in Rock Center.
Over the years, I have tried Jacques Torres (whom I personally admire), Maison du Chocolat, Neuhas, Teuscher, Marie Belle, Maxine%26#39;s, LiLac, (Godiva too)... and some of them are very good, but I think Kee%26#39;s Chocolates on Thompson Street in SoHo is a notch above.
The chocolates are amazingly fresh. Six days a week, Kee herself is in the little shop dipping her own chocolates. She is a very sweet lady. If you call her up she will tell you what chocolates she is dipping that day and if you ask she will put some away for you before they sell out.
It is fun to chat with Kee as she dips. A really nice NYC experience located in fun, bustling SoHo.
Visit keeschocolates.com for more info.
I love Jacques Torres and LiLac...
Voy - does Kee%26#39;s do milk chocolate? every time I%26#39;ve been there I%26#39;ve only seen dark - and didnt want to seem like a plebe asking! meanwhile, I dont seem to mind asking here!
Parisian Michael Cluizel has opened his first store outside of Paris on the first floor of ABC Carpet at 19th %26amp; Broadway.
Like Voy, I have tried them all in NYC and love Torres, but Cluizel is by far the best IMHO - his creations are almost as good as s*x ;-)

Heh heh Evening...
Sorry I don%26#39;t know and I am too lazy and cheap to call her (it%26#39;s long distance for me).
The website menu would suggest that the chocolate is mainly either dark or white. The only exception I could find was the keylime flavour, which is a combination of milk/dark chocolate ganache filled with freshly squeezed keylime. Given that Kee is such a kind person, I%26#39;m sure that she would make you some milk chocolates if that was what you desired.
Thanks a lot Voyagereuse. As I am found of dark chocolate, I will go to Kee%26#39;s, for that very reason Insightful has pointed out : no milk chocolate at Kee%26#39;s !
Another vote for Li-Lac!
In addition to all the above recos, how about Max Brenner? He has a store and restaurant just south of Union Square.
Also, I highly recommend the chocolate brownies at Fat Witch, located in the Chelsea Market. Wonderful! The mini ones make wonderful gifts.

Thanks Voy! I didnt expect you to call. I just know the dark chocolate people are such purists I didnt want to offend Kee by asking if she makes the lowly milk chocolate!
Also, I assumed the OP was from England and was more interested in local brands - but if its Peterborough, NH - there went my theory!
