Hi Everyone,
My wife and I are flying into LGA on a Friday morning at about 11:00 AM. We need to get out to the Tarrytown area and are weighing our options of using a car service, or taking the airport shuttle to Grand Central then taking the Metro North. I would rather use option 2, as it would be considerably cheaper. My only hesitation is luggage. We will probably just have one roller bag each (the size that fits into the overhead compartment on an airplane). From my understanding there is some overhead storage on the Metro North trains. Is it going to be a hassle to take our luggage on the train?
Thanks for the advice!
Brad
Metro North LuggageI travel M-N often - and a bag as you describe would be no problem on the train. You would not believe what people bring on the train with them. Hope you have a nice trip.

Metro North LuggageI agree with Poppa, your bags will be no problem, especially since you won%26#39;t be travelling during rush hour.
Print out the Metro North schedule beforehand and bring it with you. Once you get to Grand Central, simply look at the ';big board'; on the south side of the the Grand Concourse, or at one of the many video screens to determine what track your train is on.
Make sure to buy your tickets in the terminal or online before getting on the train as they%26#39;re more expensive in the train unless you%26#39;re a senior.

It was no problem storing two medium-sized “roller bags” on the Metro North train. My wife and I just took the Metro North to GCT, transferred to Penn Station and took the Amtrak Acela to Union Station in DC with a TravelPro 22'; Expandable Carry-On Suiter (mine) and a TravelPro 24'; Expandable Rollaboard Suiter (hers). There’s plenty of room on the overhead storage racks on the Metro North Train, especially midday.
