Hi all
Does anyone have experience of driving from Midtown up to New Rochelle or surrounds? I need to be up there by 7.15pm tomorrow and we%26#39;re looking at hiring a Zipcar to make the trip. Mapquest and Google maps state the trip should take 35 minutes, so we%26#39;re allowing 1.15hr - do you think this is sufficient?
Thanks.
Friday night rush hour - Midtown to New Rochelle
That might be a bit of a stretch on a summer Friday. Why not Metro North?

Thanks Alice. How long do you think it might take?
We looked into Metro North, but we liked the flexibility of having the car, plus it%26#39;s going to work out cheaper so we don%26#39;t need cabs to and from the station when we get to New Rochelle (we%26#39;re coming around 9pm).
If you think it%26#39;s a bad idea though, we%26#39;ll just take the train.
Sorry, that should read we%26#39;re coming back to Manhattan around 9pm.
I%26#39;d give it at least an hour and a half to two hours, really. You%26#39;re going to be stuck in the Bronx for quite a while at that hour. If the traffic is really heavy on the highways, try taking the Grand Concourse instead.
