It will be quite safe for you to take this walk not only in broad daylight on streets thronged with pedestrians (which is what you are asking about), but even after the sun goes down. That being said, the area, while safe, is more than a little industrial and gritty (that is, while safe, it is not interesting or pretty), and the walk will be about a mile.
