We%26#39;re bringing BF%26#39;s niece (12) up for her first overnight trip to the city and will be hitting up some of the standard sites.
I know several sites offer discounted admission, either through coupons, codes or AAA. I%26#39;m trying to save time (and sanity) by purchasing some tickets in advance as suggested, however, it seems that I can only get advance tickets at full price. I%26#39;ve specifically tried ESB and NBC Studio Tour (where someone here on TA said they got an AAA discount?) so far, but am also interested in The Shark.
Is this right? Can I only use discounts when I buy tickets in person? I can%26#39;t find any info on AAA site for these attractions. We%26#39;ll be coming Monday %26amp; Tuesday (8/11-8/12).
Thanks in advance!
Discount Tickets - Not for Advanced Purchase?Probably because they want to see that you actually have a AAA card with your name on it. Have you tried actually calling your local AAA travel agency to see if they have tickets for what you need?
Discount Tickets - Not for Advanced Purchase?I will call tomorrow to check, however, many websites offering discounts allow you to use the discount for online purchases (even AAA discounts) without requiring previous verifications......such as hotels, rental cars, etc.. Heck, even discount tix for a Siene river cruise in Paris allows you to use the discount code for advance purchases online. And it%26#39;s not as if these discount codes are given only to certain people.....they are advertised on brochures you pick up at Penn Station.
It%26#39;s no big deal really.....I%26#39;d still rather pay full price than have to stand in line forever, or worse, not even get in! And I%26#39;m not being cheap, I just thought if I could catch a break, I would. I%26#39;d rather spend those extra hard earned $$$ enjoying Il laboratorio del Gelato with the niece!
Happy travels!
