Hotel Prices...GEEZ!!!!

Decided on a last minute trip to come see the Yankees play before they destroy the stadium. Got reasonable airfare and yankees tickets but can%26#39;t seem to find reasonable hotels right now. Coming Sept 13th-16th. CAme last year and stayed at Radio City Apartments but for a week, of course they book a year in advance.

Should I keep looking everyday, will prices drop???

Hotel Prices...GEEZ!!!!

If all else fails...

granted this is not the most convenient for Yankee Stadium...

The hotels in Long Island City (Queens) may be an economical option for you.

The 4 train serves Yankee Stadium. It runs express from 125th Street to 59th Street (stopping only at 86th Street). At 59th Street you can get the N / W trains one stop to Queensboro Plaza where you%26#39;ll find two new Choice Hotels, the new Clarion Collection and a Quality Inn.

Just something to consider if finding something in Manhattan is just too expensive.

Also note that the R goes to Queens Plaza, which is a separate subway station not connected to the elevated Queensborough Plaza station, although in the same place.

Thanks for the suggestions/advice. I%26#39;m really hoping that if we go ahead and make a reservation now, assuming we can cancel prior without a penalty then maybe something will come up cheaper as it gets closer or we could priceline when hotels are trying to fill up.

I%26#39;m bringing a friend that has never been to NYC before so I really want her to stay in Manhattan or in the hustle and bustle. She%26#39;s doing me a favor by going with me so I can attend a Yankee game in the original stadium!!! I didn%26#39;t get to do that the last trip around.

Sorry to say - but in Sep. More than likely, prices will only rise and not drop.

It is a busy season for hotels and NYC.

My favourite Park Central on 7th ave./57th has a king bed special 3 nights 999. and superior double beds 1217, so divided in half????? or the Wellington across the street.

Try the Pod Hotel on 51st St.

You could always bid on priceline. Works for me!

Check quikboook.com. We%26#39;re doing the same thing with a last minute trip to Yankees Stadium. Got the Ameritania on 54th St. for $215 a night.

P.S. - Our 2 baseball tickets cost more than both our airfare from Detroit and ALMOST as much as our hotel stay . . but hubby insists the ';experience'; and memories will be worth it . . lol
