Has anyone stayed at the Americana Inn, seemingly round the corner from the empire state building and close to times square

It%26#39;s near but not around the corner from the ESB and is indeed within easy walk of Times Square. Check the travelers photos as rooms can be painfully small. I think some if not all are shared bathroom.
